Big win by the Oilers last night!! Yeeaaaaa!!!! Erik Cole pots a hat trick (he technically tipped in Kyle Brodziak's shot), to make it 11 goals on the season. Anyways down to some factoids, points, and fun stuff.
1) The Oilers win last night moves them into a tie for 9th spot in the west. They are one point put of a playoff spot with games in hand on just about everyone, the key: use those games in hand to your advantage. The Oilers could easily be in 6th place, implying that they win their games in hand.
2) The slow improvement of Erik Cole. He started the season off with nothing, he came out perfectly flat with nothing to give. However, in the last 10 or so games he has shown the true reason behind his acquisition. He is now up to 11 goals, is on pace for 21, give or take, which looks a lot better then the 12 or so he was on pace for 15 games ago.
3) The Enigma of the Dallas Stars. They are sitting in 13th place in the West yet they have a record of 18-17-6. They are only 4 points out of a playoff spot, yet it seems just so far away. Minus the injury's to Brendan Morrow and Sergei Zubov would they be in a playoff spot right now? It is hard to say. With Mike Modano being named to the NHL all star game, it just goes to prove the under performance of the whole team. If anything Loui Eriksson should have been named to the All Star game considering his 21 goals so far.
4) The Columbus "Steve Mason's". That's what their team name should be. Ever since that young man stepped into their crease, the Blue Jackets have seemed like a different team, a playoff worthy team at that. Sitting currently in 8th spot, the playoff picture is looking bright for this playoff virgin club.

5) Are the San Jose sharks for real? Are they really number one? Will they stay number one? Could they stay number one? Is Dan Boyle truly the answer to the problem? Let alone is Rob Blake good to keep going? Will Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau finally toss aside their choke artist look a like's and take the playoffs by the belt. Its yet to be seen.
6) The Boston Bruins are the team to beat. They simply are the BEST. You go onto their website and their slogan reads: "We want it as bad as YOU". They truly do want it bad this year. They play every night like its do or die. Marc Savard is equal to Joe Thornton is point, which just goes to show that maybe the Bruins are better off without a "choker'. Phil Kessel has finally lived up to his draft status with 24 goals and 41 points so far. Its the year of the Bear folks, jump on this bandwagon cus its going all the way. (even if Zdeno Chara has to pull it himself)
NON NHL THOUGHTS:
1) So with the Patriots not in the mix, the Colts eliminated and no one else to cheer for, which bandwagon do I jump on? I have never liked Donavan Mcnab, Baltimore isn't a very fun team to watch in my opinion. So I'm left with the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steeler's. Led by Ben Roethlisberger the Steeler's have become a juggernaut and are powering their way with offense. Meanwhile the aging Kurt Warner leads the Cardinals (a team who had won only one playoff game in the last 61 years) to the NFC championship. How I would love to see these two teams play each other in the Superbowl. I dont even know who I would cheer for at that point.

2) Tim Tebow will go down as one of the best players in College Football history, this man is superhuman.
3)IITS OFFICIAL Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen are engaged. Rumors had been flying around that Brady had popped the question before Christmas like some smart people, he actually ended up asking Gisele just a week ago. Way to go Tom!! Marrying a model, just another one up on counterpart, Peyton Manning.
4)Jerry Rice is gonna try......MOVIES!!!!!? He recently played a small role in the movie: Without a Paddle: Nature's Calling. Wow, he was a great football player, dancer, and now, possibly a movie star?! Crazy, talk about being good at everything.

5)About Daredevil vs. Wolverine....
The guy's stronger than Daredevil, has more endurance, and he's got a hundred years of samurai/savage/x-men/CIA/Shield fighting skills, and he's too near-impossible to kill, to lose to a guy whose almost got no powers that Wolverine doesn't. What's DD going to do to him? Ya thats right...nothing!
6) Did anyone happen to notice the new movie coming out? Ya FAST AND THE FURIOUS!!! With VIN DIESEL and PAUL WALKER AGAIN!!!! This spells pure awesomeness!!!! I cant belive this, I originaly thought it was a joke, but if you go onto yahoo.com you can watch the preveiw in the movie section. AWESOMNESSSSS!!!!!
7) Another movie everyone should watch is: Defiance. Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber team up for quite the performance about a group of Jew's hiding from the Nazi's. A good 4.5 stars outta 5 for me.
Anyways Go Oilers Go, and Stars, Canucks, Flames, Leafs, and Colts suck!!
Are you guys aware that Andy Reid recently made a comment that Donovan McNabb is the best quarterback in the league. What a homo! He either had a bit too much to drink or is in clear denial. I could EASILY name AT LEAST 6 or 7 quarterbacks that are better than this bum. What a loser.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, i pretty much agree with Sporer. I hate the Eagles, and am really indifferent to the Ravens. I do hate the Steelers as well, so I might cheer for Baltimore, but ultimately I'm rooting for the Cards. What a story that would be for Kurt Warner. Plus, Larry Fitzgerald is a stud. Let's hope for a speedy recovery for Anquan Boldin
We all are chearing for the Cards! Yea Boi! Cards all the way!!
