Monday Morning Recap, the next day...

Sorry for the delay, but I have been having some weird sleeping patterns as of late. Anyways, you know what, WWE wrestling is cool and I don't care who knows it! Sure it's fake, but so are movies people; however, if it is so fake, can someone please tell me how they jump, twist in the air and land on somebody who just happens to be laying across a wooden table over a cement floor? We all know it's not a sport, but it sure is some damn good entertainment for a few hours, unless you would rather watch the Maple Laughs, the Shames or the WNBA. And you know what else? Dwayne Johnson is an awesome actor who came from a wrestling background, watch him sing the most ridiculous things ever. Damn, does he look huge to you too or is it just me?

Here are my NHL thoughts for the week...

1 a – Daily Oiler Bashing – How the sh*t does Edmonton beat San Jose IN the shark tank by being outshot 41-15??? Roli. Sometimes, you need your goaltender to steal you a game or two and that's exactly what he did, simply outstanding. I'll give credit where it's due, and Roli definitely deserves it.

1 b – Does this not cloud up the goalie picture even further? First, noone could win. Now, they can't lose! All MacT wants is for someone to consistently win and someone to consistently lose. Why can't Roli and Garon just make that happen for him?

1 c – Ilya Kovalchuk is a better fit in Oil-Town then Jason Spezza. The Oiler's haven't had a 40-goal sniper since... since... since... the 80s? They certainly don't need another set-up man like Spezza to play along side Hemsky, besides, who the heck is he going to pass the puck too? Pisani? Ha.

1 d – To hell with the NHL schedule maker. Edmonton doesn't play again until Thursday? F-That.

2 – Craig Anderson is on fire. He has played Tomas Vokoun to the bench and has outstanding numbers with a .941 Save% and a 2.09 GAA. He is 7-2-3 and has the Panthers only 2 points behind the Sabres for 8th in the East. The guy is 27 and making half-a-million bucks, he is due to break the bank this off-season.

2 b – Staying with the Panthers, I think they may have the most over-paid dmen in the league: McCabe at 6.150 million, Boynton at 3 mil, Bryan Allen at 3 mil, Keith Ballard at 4.2 mil. Thats over 16 million bucks wrapped up in 4 pretty mediocre players. Also, Vokoun is set to make 6.3 million in the final year of his deal. Yikes.

3 a – Did anyone see the Hawks-Wings game the other night, they were sporting the toques they will use during the Winter Classic. Who does Detroit think they are? Eminem? Dr. Dre? The guy who hangs out by the Nu Wave Bar? Two words. Hideous Gangsta.

3 b – Again with Detroit, their dmen are a combined EVEN on the year! Lidstrom, Rafalski, Kronwall and co. are EVEN! Who would have ever thought that?! Certainly not me. Definitely not me. One word. Disappointing.

4 a – Dallas is no longer in the NHL's basement! Hallelujah! Congratulations Tampa Bay (20), Atlanta (21) and NYI (22) who all have less points then Dallas' 24!!!

4 b – Of course, still with Dallas aka. Sean Avery, I don't think he should have been suspended. With head shots, hits from behind and high sticks running wild, comments in the media should only be fined. It's only the 2nd time in league history that a suspension has been sanctioned for a media-related outburst (anyone remember, 'Have another doughnut you FAT PIG!') and he only got 1 game. Now, with Avery's suspension, 6 games will be the benchmark for future instances; they should have given him an indefinite suspension and reinstated him once he was done all his rehabilitation, then the length wouldn't need to be questioned.

5 a – The economic crisis that has hit the world might actually be good for the NHL. With teams struggling to keep afloat, maybe that will weed out franchises that don't deserve to belong in the NHL: Phoenix, Atlanta, Florida etc...

5 b – On a side note the NYR (105.2%), Senators (104.9), Penguins (102.7), Flames (102.0) and Hawks (100.5) all are filling their arenas at over capacity... Edmonton is 20th at 92.2%... Florida is last with 83.0%

Here are my non-NHL thoughts for the week...

1 a – USC is going to the Rose Bowl, with a 7th straight Pac-10 title, and a date with Penn State. Where is Notre Dame headed you ask? To Hawaii to face the Rainbow Warriors in the Hawaii Bowl. Yippee doo daa.

1 b – USC finished 11-1 and ranked #5. Notre Dame finished 6-6 and ranked #75. Out of 119. Nice choice, Drew.

2 – Well, do I need to say it again? Colts are 9-4, Ravens are 9-4, 'Phins are 8-5, Pats are 8-5 and all three teams ahead of them own the playoff tie-breakers.

3 a – Duke (8-1) took it's first lose of the year to Michigan (6-2) and dropped from #4 to #7 in the AP College basketball poll.

3 b – Notre Dame (6-2) dropped from #7 to #12. Just another sport my teams are better then Notre Dame at...

4 a – Laguna Beach has me addicted, but it is in no way, shape or form 'the real orange county'. F*ck that noise. The OC blows Laguna right out of the water in every aspect, except that LC and Kristen may have the upper hand on Marissa and Summer... Sorry Jeff.

4 b – I also watched seasons 1 & 2 of 'A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila' and was absolutely rolling around laughing my head off when Tila got shot down in the season 2 finale! I couldn't keep myself from exploding in laughter! That's what this bitch gets for parading her life around on TV. Dumbass.

4 c – I also watched 'Thats Amore' with Dominico. Who would have ever thought that 15 girls strutting around in bikinis 24/7 would make for good TV... Yummy.

5 – Operation Delta Niner is set for lift off. Congratulations Operation Delta Niner staff & crew.

Cheers.
